Tiffany Counterbalance desk lamp with 7" Tiffany Damascene shade. The base is properly stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK #415. It is the largest counterbalance base with attached ball and is the base with the largest ball. Very heavy. The Tiffany shade has many tiny fitter chips at its very edge which are visible in the pictures. None are even close to being visible when the shade is installed. In original gold finish--picture shows brighter gold than it actually has. This cap was made specifically to match the Adam desk lamp and Adam desk set pieces. It will fit any Tiffany desk lamp or table lamp base with 3 1/4-3 1/2" wheel.  It has its original threaded stud which screws into the top of the Tiffany base. Outside diameter is 3 3/4". Shows original Tiffany catalog pictures of many desk sets and individual fancy goods items. The appendix includes Tiffany's numbering system, so you can identify that odd-ball piece. 208 pages, hardbound. Not as complete as Tiffany At Auction, (retail approx. $700.00), but the cost of this book is only $75 postpaid in the USA. Mint condition with dust jacket

*IMPORTANT: Tiffany lamps contained the best electrical elements--sockets, cords and plugs--that were available at their time of manufacture. Rarely do I see or hear of a lamp shorting out except from the occasional exposed cord that has lost its insulation from misuse or poor storage.
Every lamp that I sell has been plugged in, lighted with appropriate wattage bulbs, (Desk lamps: 40w, Single socket floor lamps: 60w, Multi-socket lamps: 25-40w per socket), switched on and off numerous times, and left lighted for at least four hours. This is the extent of my safety and functionality test. I am not an electrician.
Remember, all Tiffany lamps are 80-100+ years old, and things wear out eventually. It is good insurance to have a qualified electrician check your lamp and for you to follow common sense procedures, like using low wattage bulbs which do not produce as much resistance (heat) in the wiring and using GFIC outlets or adapters to break the circuit if there is a short.

Tiffany Counterbalance floor lamp with 10" Tiffany Damascene shade. Rarely do I describe any 100 year old lamp as being in mint condition. This lamp is the closest to mint that I've seen in a long time. Even the cord and plug are original. No chips or damage to the shade. No replaced parts on the base. No noticeable wear to the rich brown/green/some red patina. Shade and base are both properly signed and stamped. The original cord has lost its silk covering, but is in good shape otherwise. 16" Tiffany Dogwood border shade on beautifully decorated Tiffany brown/green patinated library base. Bright pink dogwood blossoms with contrasting mottled leaves against a mottled minty green background.  Shade and base are both signed. Original heat cap. 20" tall.  SOLD.

Tiffany 16" diameter Greek Key table lamp on beautifully patinated--brown/green/some red--and perfectly proportioned Colonial Stick base. All original except the outer cord and possibly the ends on the switch's pull chains--yes, these are original-to-the-lamp pull chain sockets, undisturbed and with untouched patina. The shade background is a heavily mottled smoky mint green color. The ''keys'' are dichroic, lighting to a ripe peach color, when lit. The background color on the "key" border is mottled grass green with some yellow. A few unobtrusive cracks in the tiles. Available with original heat cap or with a reproduction cap, if you desire a lower purchase price. Both shade and base are properly signed.

10" Tiffany green Damascene shade. Super color and iridescence. Mint except for fitter chips. Signed L.C.T. All chips are hidden by a standard Tiffany heat cap or by installing it on a harp or counter-balance base. Most of the chipped area is the white glass inside the top, with only minor loss to the green outer glass. No damage beyond the fitter edge. The rest of the shade and the bottom rim are perfect. SOLD

Colors, unlit, from the top to the bottom: purple; magenta; magenta/gold; green/gold. Silver/gold iridescence throughout. The signed base, (see Duncan Tiffany at Auction, plate 612), has 8 scroll feet, lily pods on the shaft and a 2-arm counter-balance top. Tiffany desk lamp. The base matches the American Indian desk set in brownish gold, slightly acid-etched finish. The 7" Damascene shade is A+ in color and iridescence. Looks spectacular on and off. One of the nicest shades that I have had in a long time. Minor chigger bites to shade fitter--completely covered when installed.   Replaced socket and cord. 14" tall. Tiffany Turtleback Tile desk lamp. Dark patina base with green cabochons in the decorated foot. Two green turtleback tiles with blue/purple iridescence. The shade lights up green. The white diffuser panels, behind the turtlebacks, are in place and undamaged. Turtleback tiles are undamaged--note unusual patterns when lit. Replaced socket. One small solder repair on top right corner above tile (see last photo). Base is properly signed. 14 1/2" tall. SOLD.

Tiffany Studios Blue Vase. Nicely decorated.6 1/2" in diameter. Opening diameter is 4 1/2". 3 1/2" tall. Fully signed. The bottom half of the picture on the left shows reflection from the white background material. The color on the vase is consistent throughout. I have seen this piece with a metal wire mesh "flower frog" covering the top. SOLD

This cap will fit most 16" and 18" shades that sit on bases with arms. The cap is not threaded, like the repro caps, since there is no reason to have threads on a cap that just sits on top of the shade. sold
